A7 Fitness Bar Grip Shirt

If you’ve ever dealt with faded knurling on a barbell, a slippery bench pad, or running out of chalk at the worst time, this is the shirt for you. Version 3.0 of the A7 Fitness Bar Grip Shirt further adapts the traditional gym t-shirt into genuine performance apparel. The lightweight and breathable cotton/poly blend material includes a series of printed, comfort-grip graphics—creating a firm shelf for the bar during squats* and better traction and stabilization for your back during bench presses. No added chalk required.

The grip surface on the latest model of the A7 Fitness Bar Grip Shirt covers more area than the previous versions, spreading out to the stitching of the shirt.

*Works best for athletes who squat low bar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent shirt, but...... This shirt does what it says it will. The grip on the bar during squats feel good. Also, while benching it works great to prevent slipping while using leg drive to bench. However, the makers of the shirt must think only people under 6’ tall and 210lbs lift weights. I bought a XXL and it looks like I bought it at Baby Gap. Being too tight is one thing and most muscle heads wouldn’t mind, but it’s way too short as well. It’s almost embarrassing to wear. It’s a shame because it really is a good weight lifting shirt. Fix the sizing problems and I give it 5 stars no question. I recommend the shirt to smaller weight lifters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A7 bar grip shirts are one of a kind! A7 bar grip shirts are in a class of their own. This is the fourth color/style that I own. They keep the bar from sliding on your upper back/traps when squatting and keep you in place (prevent your upper back from sliding) on slippery commercial gym benches when bench pressing. This is a big benefit to enable you to get tight on your lifts and is also much safer when working with substantial weights. Besides the functional performance, the shirt quality is excellent and they look good too. They're made of soft, but heavy-gauge cotton and are thicker than most shirts you find. My only wish is that Rogue carries more than one color. I bought the other A7 bar grip shirts from the A7 website directly. A7 will be getting a big restock at the end of August, so hopefully Rogue will be getting some more of their inventory to sell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Husband loves it! Ordered this as a gift for my husband and he is so impressed he will likely get another ad a Christmas gift. He d3scibes it as breathable, with good bar grippage and great for shoulder stability. The cut is good and accommodates his body type well (a little wider in shoulders / chest / back than a typical shirt in size M would be). My only frustration is that the site suggests that Rogue Fitness will take care of customs fees to avoid any COD surprises, but when the shirt was delivered last month I had to pay about Cdn$19 in duty. That said, based in the quality of the shirt I’d be willing to give them another shot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shirt, but short I’m 6’5” and purchased a 2XL as most shirts that size fit me perfect however this was a bit shorter than normal: also found this to be true with the 3XL as well. But despise the length it is great and definitely stop bar roll and keeps you tight when benching.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizes run small; great grip I wear size medium shirts normally, but mine fits like a small for sure. I recommend going a size up. This shirt is mostly cotton, so if you want to do WODs in the heat with a super light fabric T-shirt, this might not be for you. The shoulder grip is like a football glove, super tacky. This is awesome for use on squat days during crossfit where most gyms have bars with no center knurling. It is also great for sticking to the bench for the bench press. It's a little pricey for a T-shirt, but I could see getting at least a couple good years out of it using it about once a week with smooth bars. If you have a center knurling on your bar, this might not be the most useful thing, but at least it still looks pretty cool. I heard about this from Donnie Thompson AKA Donnie 3k AKA Super D's youtube channel, and gave 4/5 due to the shirt being too cotton dependent and the size makes me look like I shop at baby gap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these shirts! I have four of these and I love them all. The bar (or bench) grip function is the first of it's kind so it's already in a league of it's own. That said they set the bar high (no pun intended) for training shirts for powerlifters. My favorite thing about these is the material and cut - breathes really well and fits athletic builds perfectly. Definitely worth ordering to have at least one in your training gear arsenal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great shirt, sizing is way off. Just received this shirt in the mail, and I was super stoked to try it on. I have two of the original bargrip shirts, and assumed this would fit just as well, considering the sizing recommendations are the same. With a 44'' chest and a 32'' waist, large should fit perfectly. The shirt feels like its going to split open at the seams under the armpit, and the neck hole is so tight that it's uncomfortable. I'd recommend sizing up, sadly I won't be able to wear this, which sucks because its a $50 shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift I got this for my boyfriend, and he gets non-stop compliments from people whenever he wears it to the gym. He says it makes a huge difference and helps with squatting/benching. The only thing I'd change about the shirt is the length; it appears to run a little bit shorter than most shirts (even on my boyfriend, who has a short torso). I'd expect a weightlifting shirt to be longer since weightlifting involves a lot of arm/overhead movements that would cause the bottom of your shirt to be raised.
