We developed the Monster Hip Thruster Bench to give athletes a stable and comfortable platform for performing hip thrusts in a space efficient, rack-mounted format. Each unit is constructed from a 2x4" 11-gauge steel tube with 5/16” thick formed steel endplates. Around the tube is a U-shaped, vinyl-covered pad that’s 2.25" thick on the top and 1.5" thick on the sides—offering additional protection from contact with any hard steel surfaces as you train.

Designed Specifically for Hip Thrusts

As an increasingly popular lower body strength training exercise, the hip thrust has been proven effective for developing the glutes (as well as the hamstrings and quads) with far less loading on the spine than traditional barbell squats. This also makes it an excellent option for rehabilitation work. In the movement, the barbell is placed across the hips as the athlete sits on the floor. With each upward thrust of the hips, the shoulders also elevate and level out, which is where the Monster Hip Thruster Bench comes in—providing leverage and padded protection through each rep.

Multiple applications
I got this shortly after buying my monster rack and am so glad I did. I of course use it for hip thrusts and it is awesome for that purpose - so much more stable than using my bench. I also use it to anchor my legs for lat pulls (install it upside down) and for a pad to push my knee against for standing single leg hamstring curls (using the Rogue ankle cuffs which I also highly recommend). I then realized that if I lower the pad a little more and sit on it I can do leg extensions (one leg at a time of course). It's a little awkward at first but it works. Be forewarned, it is somewhat heavy and awkward to move around so be very careful installing and moving it around your rack or you can easily ding it and mar the finish like I have on multiple occasions. A little rust oleum touch up bottle has helped cover up the blemishes thankfully.

Nice bench
This is a very nice bench, and as another reviewer mentioned it makes a nice seat. It is probably best if it has a dedicated spot on your rig and doesn't have to be moved often. My wife and daughters who use the rig find it a bit heavy and can't move it. Plus, because it is so well made, it must be precisely aligned to get the detent pins in place. That can be difficult while trying to balance the bench across its 43" span. I devised some cone shaped rods to use as an alignment tool.

Great Build Quality
This is a very nice piece of equipment. To address some of the older negative reviews, it is UHMW lined now on all 3 sides that touch your rack so it should not scratch anything. Getting it on the rack is not hard either, just place the hitch pins through the rack holes right under where you want to attach the bench. Set it on top of the hitch pins, then holding one side at a time, pull the pin out from under it and place the pin through the bench/rack hole. Repeat on the other side. Aside from the obvious uses (hip thrusts, split squats), if you have a center mounted rogue slinger (coop-squat style), flipping the bench over works as a great way to hold your legs/body in place while doing lat pulldowns.
