4x “Fittest Man on Earth” Mat Fraser has partnered with Nike for his own edition of the new Metcon 6; the next generation in breathable, versatile cross-training shoes.
The Metcon 6 is expressly designed to stand up to the push and pull of heavily weighted and high-intensity workouts, delivering reliable stability and durability with a dual-density drop-in midsole, flat wide heel, and abrasion-resistant haptic topcoat. Breathability is also paramount with this model, as the Metcon 6’s lightweight mesh delivers 18% more cooling airflow than the Metcon 5.
Rubber tread on the outsole and up the side of the shoe provides directional traction on the ground + grip for rope climbs. Cushioning foam is firmer under the heel for security on lifts and softer in the forefoot for high-impact moves.
The color scheme of the Mat Fraser Metcon represents key elements of his mental make-up:
- Blacked Out Upper = the “dark space” he descends to in order to block out all distractions
- Red Stripe and Base = focus
- Iridescent Blue Pattern = ice in the veins
- Sockliner Slogans = includes phrasing inspired by the Serenity Prayer + Mat's HWPO mantra (“Hard Work Pays Off”)
