Rogue HR-2 Half Rack

The customizable Rogue HR-2 Half Rack can be installed as a stand-alone unit or by converting an existing Monster Lite Series squat stand .

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the HR-2 features the same 2x3” 11-gauge steel base and 48”x49” footprint as the SML-2, but incorporates an additional pair of 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights and 17” crossmembers in the back of the unit. This gives the rack a huge amount of additional storage capacity and almost a foot and a half of inside depth for benching, rack pulls, and more. The Half Rack also offers a range of customizable options to best suit your needs—including the optional plate storage and pin/pipe safety sets, and a selection of different heights for the uprights themselves (90” or 108” for the front; 70” or 90” for the back).

IMPORTANT: If you already own a Rogue Monster Lite Squat Stand (SML-1, SML-2, or SML-3) and wish to convert it to an HR-2, we offer a Half Rack Conversion Kit that would include all the components and hardware you’ll need.

Rogue HR-2 Half Rack is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid - Exceeds Expectations I purchased the HR-2 along with the safety spotter arms and AB-2 bench. This thing is solid. There is slight wiggle on a foam floor without being screwed down. the top of the 90" uprights will maybe sway a quarter of an inch. this only occurs if you forcefully try to swing left/right on the pullup bar, or grab each of the uprights and try swaying it side to side. there is zero front to back sway even when forcing. The HR-2 is much more solid than I expected and especially much more solid than most people need. The looks of the HR-2 are incredible as well. All-in-all id say this is an excellent product and well worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's changed as my fitness needs have changed. Purchased back in 2014 and originally used it only as a squat rack. Over the years I've transitioned from weights to gymnastics as my connective tissue is in poor shape due to my desk jockey day life. Thanks to this rack, I can do both very effectively. The photos tell the story, but I'm even able to bench, press, and squat with the stall bars in place. I bolted this into concrete with Rogue's recommended concrete lag bots and bolt feet... the unit is rock-solid. I can even use the spotter arms as jerk blocks. If you're looking for a rack that is very compact, built like a tank, and can do it all, you've found it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update to my SML 1 I posted a review of my SML 1 rack a month back ( included pics ) and decided to upgrade to the half rack after checking out a few reviews and pictures below in this thread. This setup for tight spaces is perfect. I didn't want...or have the room for another weight tree so this kills two birds with one stone. Doesn't take up anymore floor space and it looks amazing. Just like the squat rack itself, every nut and bolt lined up perfectly. No surprises. Highly recommended package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black Beauty :-) Bough this last week, and it arrived 4 days later. How quick can it be? Rogue staff is very helpful, although they work primarily on email only. Took me 3 hours to assemble. I moved the back brace a little higher to accommodate my cable column which goes right behind the rack. Rock solid, which means it does not wobble at all. I also purchased Matador Dip attachment and upgraded Sandwich J-Hooks. Look great with my Ivanko revolver plates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This the THE one for home garage owners!!!! I was so confused prior to this purchase on what I wanted. I was looking with the intention of putting this in one spot of a 3-car garage. I was considering options like the R-3 but wasn't exactly sure how permanent I could afford to be with securing a rack to the floor. After much deliberation I elected to go with the HR-2 along with the spotter arms and the rack storage. I am so glad I did this because not only is it super sturdy, but I've been able to easily adjust it's location a few times since setting it up to better optimize workout space in my garage. It is super solid and I have no doubt it can handle twice the weight I'll ever have sitting on it. And when the day comes that I have to move to a new home, all I have to do is take off the top bar and the bottom cross member and then two people can load it in a moving truck. The spotter arms are MUCH easier to adjust than the bars in an R-series rack so it makes adjustments very easy. I also like squatting/pressing OUTSIDE of the rack instead of inside. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I bought this over 6 months ago and have not wanted to go back to the gym since! This thing is very sturdy. I would recommend this over a full rack just because you don't have to worry about getting the bar out from the middle to switch to another type of exercise. I do not crossfit, I prefer shocking the muscle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Just got my garage box set up and this thing has exceeded my expectations. I was worried about two things: stability with kipping pull-ups/toes to bar, and being able to do pull-ups without hitting my head with a low 8' ceiling. This thing is solid, tried some pull-ups last night after hand tightening just to test the clearance and it was a rock. This morning, after tightening the nuts with an impact driver (yes, driver not wrench) it became even more stable - I didn't think that was possible. Absolutely no play from forward to aft when rocking, and less than a centimeter of play left to right if you're on the ground trying to rock it. Felt no difference with plates stored or w/o - it's solid either way. Plenty of clearance up for pull-ups with the single skinny pull-up bar mounted on the second holes from the top. You will not be able to do muscle-ups unless you have a really high ceiling. Quality is top notch, hardware is beefy. Install instructions are lacking, but the pictures on the website help out a lot. I started from the bottom up for install. It takes longer to unpack the thing, discard boxes, and organize the hardware than it does to complete the install.
