Rogue Loadable Kettlebell

Made in the USA from 1.25” diameter solid steel, the Rogue Loadable Kettlebell can be used with virtually any standard 2” Olympic Plates, as well as our Rogue Dumbbell Bumpers. The effect is to re-create the versatility of an entire rack of traditional KBs in one simple, portable 10.25 LB unit.

A wire lock pin is included to safely lock the handle piece into the base sleeve, which offers 6” of loadable length. That same base sleeve can also be inserted into an Atlas stone, enabling the use of the handle for stone lifts or custom concrete kettlebells. For this reason, we’ve made the sleeve portion available to order a la carte, as well, for customers who want to configure multiple stones / concrete KBs but only need one handle.

Each Loadable Kettlebell is hand-forged by Lockhart Ironworks and hand-stamped with Rogue branding. Some users may wish to use an axle collar (sold separately) to help secure plates on the sleeve for a better feel when in use.

Not as Practical as a Kettlebell
When doing snatches and presses the plates dig into your forearm and it just doesn’t feel right. With a regular kettlebell you still get contact, however the force is distributed through the round surface of the bell and is not as bad.

Space Saver
If you already have olympic weights and are limited on space, this is a great and affordable alternative to buying individual kettlebells.

Sturdy but odd design
The product is strong steel and will hold up over time. I am going to make it work, but: The base rod is not thick enough for a standard barbell collar to tighten onto. This means if you load up a single plate it will rattle around, sliding back and forth during swings. You need to then load collars or dummy plates on the rod until there is minimal rattling potential. Then, the handle rod that slips into the base is not snug inside the base rod. So, during swings, it rattles around and hits the inside of the base. It's easily remedied with some athletic tape wrapped around the bottom of the handle rod. I really shouldnt have to work around these issues for a less annoying experience. 2 stars for what it is at the price they are asking. Hopefully they'll improve in future.

Good for everything
I mostly use it for swings and bent over one arm rows. Great piece of gear.

Love the concept, but....
Everything Rogue produces and makes is fantastic, even this loadable kettlebell. I just wish the top of the handle were more rounded off instead of straight/flat, or, there was a bit more room for my hands to be side by side when swinging. The current design has my fingers overlapped, which is not a deal breaker, just somewhat uncomfortable when used during a workout.

Versatile and flexible
I'm new to kettlebells but liked the adjustability of this piece. The loadable base height could be a bit longer for my tastes and I wish there was a way to take better advantage of the handle height adjustments to load more (narrower) plates. Screw type collars may yet make that possible with some experimentation. But overall I'm quite pleased and find using it to actually be a lot of fun.

Solid Construction, Poor Design
First off, this thing is solid and I'm sure my grandkids will be able to use it someday much like everything from Rogue; however, I do have some significant issues with it. First, the loadable sleeve diameter is less than 2", which means a standard collar won't lock onto the bar. So if I don't load the base all the way to the pin, there is some play that allows the plates to clang around which can be really disruptive at the top of a swing. This is especially frustrating as the product pictures lead me to believe that a standard collar would work as it looks like they have an OSO collar pictured. Now I have to buy a specialty collar to hold the plates in place when it is not fully loaded or otherwise rig up some filler piece. The other issue is the handle itself. I have larger hands, but they are not abnormally large. I cannot get my pinkies around the handle comfortably with a double handed grip. I think if the opening would have been more rounded than pill-shaped, I wouldn't have this issue.
