The latest version of the Ohio Deadlift Bar introduces three new Cerakote color finishes, with your choice of a black, red, or OD green shaft. All options also include the Rogue logo on the center of the shaft and black Cerakote sleeves.

Like the original ODB, the Cerakote model is machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, and precision-engineered for the needs of the competitive deadlifter. The bar’s 190,000 PSI steel shaft is designed with a comparatively thin diameter (27MM) and longer overall length (90.50" – just within most powerlifting federation standards). This combination creates a power bar that is both easier to grip and better equipped for producing maximum whip/flex when pulling. For many powerlifters, that greater flex means being able to pull from a higher point before the plates break off the floor, potentially increasing the amount of weight that can be lifted in the process.

The Ohio Deadlift Bar’s sleeves feature a quality snap ring construction—far superior to the cheaply produced bolt-and-pin style sleeves of some other brands. The powerlifting knurl marks on this bar are a bit deeper / more aggressive than our Ohio Power Bar, but machined in the same pattern. There is no center knurl.

*Please Note: The optional Proprietary Matte Black metal treatment process also hardens the steel, which can cause some additional friction with plates that have a chamfer.

New Cerakote Color Finishes
1

New Cerakote Color Finishes

The new Ohio Deadlift Bar is finished using a polymer-ceramic composite coating called Cerakote, which has been popular for years in the gun industry for its remarkable durability in thin applications. This advanced finish can deliver superb abrasion/wear/corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—while also enabling much greater versatility in color choices and design. The Cerakote Deadlift Bar comes in three colorways—black, red, and OD green—each paired with black sleeves and Rogue branding on the center of the shaft.

Steel Shaft - Specialized for Deadlifts

Steel Shaft - Specialized for Deadlifts

This steel used for the Ohio Deadlift Bar is manufactured in the US and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a competition power bar. Each barbell shaft is ground and polished prior to machining, enabling a consistent smooth surface. With this design, we also created a shaft with a thinner diameter (190,000 PSI) and longer length (90.50"), optimizing the bar’s flex/whip for high-performance deadlifts.

Machining & Assembly
3

Machining & Assembly

Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus, Ohio, with painstaking attention to detail. A snap ring construction and quality bronze bushings ensure a smooth, consistent performance. The powerlifting knurl marks are a bit deeper / more aggressive than our Ohio Power Bar, but machined in the same pattern. There is no center knurl.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

Ohio deadlift bar
Fantastic bar, shipped fast, cannot complain about the bar at all. Great coating grip and whip on the bar even using 100lb deep dish plates keeping the weight in tight on the bar.

BEST
This deadlift bar is the best bar ever for deadlifts. After 225-315lbs it has just the perfect whip for a great lift and this bar whips like a pro at 500lbs over then comes right back to straight. This is worth every penny, don’t hesitate and buy this bar. Wow just wow.

A good deadlift bar, but not the best
I purchased the ODB in black/black cerakote. I love the knurling on my OPB's and wondered if the same knurling style on a deadlift bar would be preferable? After owning this bar for 6 months, my opinion is, it's a great deadlift bar, but maybe not be the best option available. I actually own two deadlift bars. This bar, and the other beloved deadlift bar from a different company. That company we all know about, located in Texas. While I prefer the knurling of the ODB to that of the 'other' deadlift bar I mentioned, as well as the superior corrosion resistance of cerakote, the 'other' bar probably wins out and here's why. The whip! A deadlift bar is all about the whip. The more whip the bar has, the more upright you can start your pull. The 'other' bar has thicker collars and a longer loadable sleeve length. So, the weights are more pushed out and you can load more plates on the sleeve which further provides the bar with greater whip. The ODB, with it's thinner collars and shorter sleeves, is just a stiffer bar. You might like that or you might hate it. Whip is a personal preference. You can cheat this a little bit by putting a barbell collar on each sleeve of the ODB, THEN adding your plates for the lift. This pushes the weights further out on the sleeve, thus creating a little more whip on the ODB. It's not the best option, but it does work somewhat. This bar might also be a good choice if you're a complete degenerate like myself and want to purchase as many specialty bars as possible. I actually rotate stiff bars and both deadlift bars into my deadlift rotation to constantly change the leverages. That might be a silly reason for many to buy more than one deadlift bar. That is for you to decide. But if you want a deadlift bar and prefer the volcano knurling, the ODB is a great option.

Bought this 2 months ago. Makes deadlifting fun.
I got the Olive Green Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar 2 months ago. I deducted one star because the olive green is so dark that you can barely tell there is any color to the bar. When you pay the premium for cerakote, you want to see the color. Regardless, the bar is great. The 27mm is much smaller diameter than my 29mm Rogue Ohio Power Bar, which i was using for deadlifts prior to this purchase. This bar is really long and has a nice bend to it. I love that it doesn't have a center knurl to scrape up my shins.
