Rogue OSO Barbell Collars

This is the exclusive, Rogue-branded version of the OSO Barbell Collar—an innovative, aircraft-grade aluminum clamp designed and manufactured in Colorado.

Sold in pairs and equipped with a rubberized interior lining to protect the bar, OSO Collars deliver a secure, stable hold through repeated, high-impact drops, and allow easy adjustments or removal with a simple lever and lock/unlock mechanism. It’s the OSOs unique look, though, that generates the most attention. With this design, that means an industrial gear-style shape in gunmetal gray with the Rogue logo down the side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Great I bought these over a year ago and have used several times a week - they've held up great. They weight .6 lbs so they pair perfectly with the typical 20kg bar to give you a true 45lbs - for the OCD of us. :) For those who gave lower reviews than 5 stars because the locking arm can snap/hurt your fingers when you open them... I'm not sure what to say - treat it like an IQ test?? ... see if you can flip it open with one finger while keeping your hand out of the way - we do now have opposable thumbs to separate us from the primates. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OSO vs. HG Collars These collars have much better grip than the HG collars, but they are still not perfect. I bought the OSOs because my HG collars slide around a lot during high rep workouts where the bar is dropped frequently. The OSOs have solved this problem - they hold strong even after >20 drops from overhead with only 25# bumper plates on the bar. They fall short of perfection in two ways: 1) they have started to eat into my bumper plates after minimal use (see picture) and 2) they are difficult to slide onto the barbell and this slows down weight changes. Overall this is a good product, but not necessarily better than the old HG collars - each collar has its own strengths and weaknesses. Buy the OSOs for high volume WODs (especially if you have bulletproof competition/training plates) and the HGs for low rep weightlifting and strength training where frequent weight changes are required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best collar I currently have a set of the HG Collars and spring collars. The spring and HG collars always shift when deadlifting. The OSOs do not - they were totally locked in over 12 sets of 400-500lbs being dropped. Best collars I've ever used. They do dig into the plates a bit and cause a wear pattern - but we're talking about barbell lifting, not a beauty pageant. Wear and tear is fine - I don't see that as a downside. Others might.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best collars I've ever used These things don't move once you lock them down, and they look good too. Some people say they are hard to get on and off, but I question if they are opening the collars up completely. If you rotated the handle back all the way it locks the collar open, and it is very easy and quick to get them on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! I just received these collars and they are bomb proof. They are a little tighter and stiffer the the original ones. When Rogue puts their name on something that stuff is gold!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OSO Barbell Collar I purchased the OSO barbell collar last month. It reliably keeps bumper plates locked in with no sliding issues - particularly, with heavy workouts such as cleans, jerks, squats, and bench press. Initially, I was concerned about lock mechanism due to prior reviews - but I’ve had no issues (make sure collar/lock is completely open before sliding onto bar).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ricky Bobby approves We used these yesterday during a training session that culminated into 40 power cleans in 10 minutes at 225#. The collars or plates did not budge on my Rogue Training Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!!! Bought about 1 month ago. Works like a charm. Seems to be more durable than the plastic ones as well. Worth the extra cost.
