Key Features of This Ohio Bar:

  • 1200,000 PSI Steel

This high tensile strength steel is manufactured in the USA and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a multi-purpose barbell. Each barbell shaft is ground and polished prior to machining, allowing for a very smooth finish.

  • 2Machining

Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus, Ohio. A great deal of pride is built into each bar as the knurling process is an art. We spent months working on the knurl we believe to be the best for the Ohio Bar.

To test the knurl it is more a beer tasting process than exact measurement. There is a look and feel that go into testing every bar.

  • 3The Look & Feel of Stainless Steel

With no plating, the knurl on the Stainless Steel Ohio Bar is left exactly how we machined it, providing a great feel that cannot be achieved with other finishes. It’s similar to the knurl feel from a bare steel shaft, but with better corrosion resistance. The combination of a stainless steel shaft and chrome sleeves also creates a sharp look with few equals. Please Note: Rogue recommends using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft. Steel on steel can cause rusting over time. See more tips here: Bar Care & Maintenance.

  • 4Assembly

The Ohio Bar is assembled with the same black composite bushings as the Rogue Bar 2.0, which act as bearing surfaces between the bar sleeve and bar shaft. This is a very robust way of building a barbell, and can produce a smooth, consistent spin not possible with lesser import bars. Each bar comes with an “Ohio Bar Card” that has the initials of the Rogue team member that built it.

  • 5Performance

The multi-purpose Ohio Bar will have normal “whip” during Olympic weightlifting and enough stiffness to hold for heavy Powerlifting. The steel in this bar is proven as an excellent choice for weightlifters.

  • 6Fast Rogue Shipping

Rogue prides itself on fast, professional shipping. If your bar is ordered by 3PM EST Monday-Friday, it will ship same day. Your bar will be packaged safely and ship fast. You can follow the progress of your order using the Rogue Shipping Tracker.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Whichever barbell finish you choose, Rogue has provided some helpful tips for long term Bar Care & Maintenance.

The Ohio Bar - Stainless Steel is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 108.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The goldstandard with minor flaws I bought this bar to have an alternative for powerlifting, crosslifting and general purpose next to my eleiko. I bought the stainless steel version due to it´s amazing corrosion resistance and legendary knurling. so what did i get? First of all the packaging was great - way better than the eleiko packaging. There is almost no way the bar can be damaged during transportation! It has little cushions underneath the endcaps and is very well packed. There were also some stickers included which is a nice little gimmick. The bar itself has a very nice appearance. The only downside was that it came with some discoloring at the sleeves due to manufacturing process and friction welding i guess. One sleeve also had some axial play in it due to tolerances. Besides this minor flaws it is an absolutely outstanding bar! Considering the pricetag i could hardely imaging getting a better bang for your buck! What surprised me was the knurling. This thing is sharp !!! Coming from training with an swedish competitor for mainly olylifts, i would have thought that a general puprose bar is going to be more moderate - this bar is anything than that! For what i use the bar for it is absolutely great. There is no way to lose your grip - you would rather lose your skin. On the other hand i wouldn´t recommend the knurling for high volume training in crossfit or olylifting. It is going to destroy your hand! I guess this comes from the fact that this bar has no additional coating and therefore has this harsh knurling. Knowing all this and considering the puproses you would use this for i can absolutely recommend this barbell!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best premium barbell for average gym rats I do mainly powerlifting movements with some power cleans, and this barbell was perfect in terms of knurling/grip and maintenance. I live in PNW where it rains all the time, and all I do to maintain this barbell is use nylon brush to remove debris which takes 10 sec. I like how it looks as well. Only thing I might wish is SS sleeves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ohio Bar - Stainless Steel Review I purchased the Ohio Bar - Stainless Steel version on 3/24; delivered on 3/30. Initially, I was hesitant to purchase a Stainless version of the OB, due to the increased price versus incremental benefits. The Ohio Bar - Stainless Steel delivers with a firm, and (in my opinion) flawless knurling that can be used for long training sessions without premature hand wear. I use this bar for general weightlifting use, with powerlifting sessions mixed between; squatting without the center knurling is a nonissue, and even better when front squatting. Chrome sleeves on the Stainless version, which I find to be of high quality, and reliable with rotation from the composite bushings (unknown if Olympic lifts would require a needle bearing solution or not). Overall, this is an outstanding product, that I intend to use for years to come. Great Work Rogue Fitness! Happy Customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I expected This was my first purchase for my home gym. This bar is everything I expected. Loved the bare machined grips and the smell of it. I bought the stainless hoping it could hold up to my humid climate. So good so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well rounded barbell This is a great barbell from a great company. Pros: Knurling is fantastic, its aggressive without ripping my hands, id say it feels "sticky". Stainless steel is king 28.5 mm will work for any lift Sleeves have good spin Fit and finish is excellent Cons: I was expecting the stainless to stay bright, it does NOT. It turned dull after a few weeks of use. The finish shows every mark, ding, swirl mark, chalk, debris even after cleaning it. It is what it is guess. There are different kinds of stainless steel and the stainless im used to at work (Aviation) is of a much higher quality. In summary I would rate this bar 9.5/10. My expectations were a bit too high for spending so much money. If you want a very well rounded barbell with great knurling that shouldn't rust over time than this is it. If you expect a barbell that will look shiny and new forever then this is NOT the bar for you lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be happier The bar is well manufactured and very durable. It arrived to my home in Canada in pristine shape, thanks to the solid packaging. The knurling on the stainless steel version of the Ohio Bar is, from what I'm told, slightly more aggressive than the coated versions. However, I feel that the knurling is in the Goldielocks zone--just right. The dual knurl entails that the bar is for both weightlifting and powerlifting, and my experience thus far agrees with Rogue's intention in that regard. The bar itself is aesthetically pleasing, and no complaints from that perspective. If I were to deduct a half a point--though I am not going to--it would be due to the lack of centre knurling. However, there are other bars available from Rogue to cover that market, if that's what you're looking for. Overall 5 stars and extreme satisfaction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted it to be Upgraded from a zinc coated Ohio to stainless. Takes everything I liked about the old bar and improves it with better grip. My go-to bar for pushing lifts and still a solid choice for pulling and deadlifts. Expect to be using this for many years to come.
